North America

The Middle East Children’s Alliance will hold a fundraising dinner for Palestinians on 14 August in San Rafael, California.

Creative Nonviolent Resistance against Injustice (CNRI) has launched a new website: http://PalestinianGandhis.org.

Jewish Voice for Peace urges supporters to sign on to an open letter to American Jewish leaders, asking them to denounce Israel's increasing violations of human rights and democratic values.

Interfaith Peace-Builders published a trip report from its 34th delegation to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory, which concluded its work on 6 August.

Churches for Middle East Peace
 has posted video clips from its 2010 Advocacy Conference.

Europe

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) reports that a mass protest will be held outside the cosmetics shop, Ahava, in London, on 14 August. The protest’s purpose is to show solidarity with activists who were arrested for earlier demonstrations against Ahava, an Israeli company whose factory is in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. According to PSC, Ahava products use mud from the Dead Sea, exploiting occupied natural resources for profit, and violating the Fourth Geneva Convention.  

Viva Palestina is launching "Viva Palestina 5 - a global lifeline to Gaza," a large land convoy scheduled to leave London on 18 September, in conjunction with convoys leaving from Casablanca and Doha, and timed to coordinate with a larger and even more international flotilla aiming to reach Gaza by sea at the same time. Supporters can do their part by fundraising, promoting, or taking part themselves. Spaces for participants are limited.
The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign held an event on 12 August in Dublin to highlight the more than 130 Irish artists who signed up to the following pledge: "In response to the call from Palestinian civil society for a cultural boycott of Israel, we pledge not to avail of any invitation to perform or exhibit in Israel, nor to accept any funding from any institution linked to the government of Israel, until such time as Israel complies with international law and universal principles of human rights."

The Council for Arab-British Understanding published a letter in The Independent on 3 August, in which it said: “[Israeli President] Shimon Peres's accusations about Britain being pro-Arab and anti-Israeli show that he and other Israeli leaders are still blind to the impact of Israel's illegal and immoral policies and actions.”

Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem

Ir Amim will lead a Hebrew-language study tour of East Jerusalem on 20 August.

Stop the Wall reports that the World Education Forum will take place in the Occupied Palestinian Territory from 28 to 31 October under the umbrella of the World Social Forum program.

Defence for Children International - Palestine Section will hold an international conference from 10 to 11 November in Bethlehem.

The Alternative Information Center has organized an international political field seminar entitled “Bridges Instead of Walls,” which is running from 6 to 19 August. The seminar has brought 25 Spaniards to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory for meetings, lectures, workshops and tours.

Al-Haq has expressed deep concern over a Palestinian man’s hunger strike, which he has been holding since  26 July 2010 opposite the Israeli Embassy in Berlin. A resident of East Jerusalem who is married to a German national, Firas Al-Maraghi is protesting Israel’s decision to ban his newborn daughter from being registered as a Jerusalem resident.

Al Mezan Centre for Human Rights, together with the Palestinian Bar Association, concluded on 10 August a six-month training course for lawyers in Gaza.
